Ride entry for June 7th: I rode from downtown Montpelier to the Rumney school in Middlesex (a distance of about 6 miles) in about 23 minutes. If you don't know the route, it's about half flat and half uphill (and just about zero coasting), with a vertical gain of roughly 500 feet. On an unmotorized bike, the trip takes me about 38 minutes and requires a change of clothing (no matter what season it is). After this trip, I had but a slight dampness to my brow. (Side-note: Rumney has a bike rack out front but it rarely hosts any bikes...) ~Lauri
